APOSTLE JOHN THE BELOVED IS DESCRIBED AS THE APOSTLE OF LOVE.
This is as a result of what he captured in his first, second and third letters.
He encouraged us to love one another. He however discouraged us from loving the world and things of the world.
We capture some Biblical Principles that can be applied to our lives in relation to Almighty God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and humanity as a whole. This God-kind of love (Agape) is not restricted to the church alone but extends to the whole humanity because God so love humanity that He gave Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for our sins that whosoever believes in Him should not Perish but have everlasting life.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES FROM THE LETTERS OF APOSTLE JOHN THE BELOVED

CHAPTER ONE PRINCIPLES

1.      Whenever we gather as children of the Most High to fellowship, we have gathered to fellowship with our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

2.      As children of God walk in the light of God’s Word because God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all.

CHAPTER TWO PRINCIPLES

1.      JESUS is our advocate and defender, therefore whenever you sin, go to Him in faith, ask for forgiveness and discontinue from such acts.

2.      Knowing Jesus means keeping His commandment which is to love God with all our heart and all our soul and all our mind and all our might.

3.      To stay in the light –Jesus- you must love. (Agape)

4.      Do not hate. He who hate is a dead fellow and walks in darkness.

5.      Do not love the world nor the things in the world –lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life.

6.      Anyone who denies that Jesus came in the flesh is an anti-Christ

7.      Holy Spirit is the anointing in the life of a Christian to teach us aright

CHAPTER THREE PRINCIPLES

1.      God’s love for us is an overwhelming love.

2.      Our purity is strictly by the Word of God

3.      Whenever you commit sin you are of the devil

4.      When you are born again, you do not commit sin. To commit sin means to willingly give in to sin without reservations.

5.      Whoever does not love his brother or sister id dead while still alive

6.      You are classified as a murderer when you hate your brother or sister.

7.      Always share with those who do not have.

8.      Our love for each other must be in our doings and in truth.

9.      Jesus abides in us by the Holy Spirit.

CHAPTER FOUR PRINCIPLES

1.      Greater is Jesus in me than the devil and wicked ones in the world.

2.      He or she who loves to hear the Word of God has the Spirit of Truth and knows God.

3.      He or she who doesn’t love to hear God’s Word has the spirit of error and doesn’t know God.

4.      God is love. If God loves us then we need to love one another.

5.      Perfect love cast out fear.

6.      Claiming to love God while hating your neighbour makes you a liar.

CHAPTER FIVE PRINCIPLES

1.      Whoever is born of God overcomes the world. With our faith we overcome the world

2.      Divine Trinity simply means The Father, The Word and The Holy Spirit working together in unity

3.      When we ask anything according to the will of our Heavenly for us He hears us.

4.      All unrighteousness is sin.

2 JOHN PRINCIPLES

1.      Obeying God’s commandment = LOVE

2.      WHOEVER abides in the teaching of Jesus Christ has the Father and the Son

3.      Do not receive any other teaching which is unscriptural. The Bible has been the only relevant text throughout all ages.

3 JOHN PRINCIPLES

1.      Prosperity of the soul is the determinant factor for good health and progress in all areas of life.

2.      We must walk in the truth as did Gaius.

1.      Always be of good support to missionaries whenever they visit or on the mission field.

2.      We must not be as Diotrephes who was not hospitable to missionaries, nor subject to constituted authority and discourages those who want to do good to missionaries.

3.      Strife to be a Christian of good report.
